Hot Stones

We use Hot Stone therapy in many of our massage sessions to warm and soften tight, sore, spasming or fascially bound muscles.  The heat of the stones can let us get much deeper into the body without the client feeling discomfort.  In our hot stone massage we hold the stone in our hand and move it up, down and across the muscles to warm them.   Occasionally we leave stones on an area that need more constant heat to help release it, such as the lower back or sacrum area. Most of our clients love the hot stone even if they have never experienced them before.  On occasion we have clients that we don’t use hot stone on.  If we find it does not relaxing them or that they don’t like the heat, we use other therapist to release the body.  The training we received was Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Hot stone.

Working on the back of the thigh, the hamstring

To release tension and pain in the upper body   (the neck, shoulders & back) I need to work in the Glutes, hamstring, calf & foot.  When the muscles in these areas are tight they press into the main nerve travelling down the back of the leg, the sciatic nerve.  The pressure on this nerve sends pain all the way up the body.  Tight or shortened muscles in the pelvic area can also be one of the main causes of pain that affects other area of the body, such as the neck, shoulders, legs or feet.

Raindrop Technique (RT)

 What is Raindrop Technique?

The raindrop technique is used to help the realignment of the spine and to help with or reverse scoliosis, kyphosis, sciatica and chronic back pain.   As with most therapies, it works powerful on some patient and less powerfully on others.

Dr. Gary Young developed “RT”.  It is the application of 9 essential oils (7 single oils and 2 blended oils) to the back and on the lower leg.  These oils are brushed along the spine and back very lightly as this helps energy flow through the body.  Dr. Young developed RT by understanding the powerful antimicrobial properties that are in essential oils.
